In my honest opinion, this is the best black metal album to come out of the United States. Ever. Period. It's extremely unique, well written, varied and has an atmosphere that just doesn't exist anywhere else. If you want to hear an extremely adventurous (not to mention well produced) take on the genre, I cannot recommend this album enough. Truly one of a kind. REST IN POWER SATORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Favorite track: Dirge for the Fallen.
Headquartered in forgotten backwater swamps of Devil's Hammock, along the haunted western shores of North Central Florida, the creative duo TORCHED EBONY SKIES serve as keepers and purveyors of "Floridian Darkness," a mutli-faceted fusion of black metal and dark ambient foundations with deep spiritual adoration and concern for the environment, its preservation, and subsequent misanthropy at its philosophical core.
"Tabula Rasa / Nocuous Keloid" ("clean slate" / profileration of scar tissue) is a dual-concept album spanning nearly 80-minutes of a cosmonaut embarkation through desolate natural wilds, distant celestial terrains, and deep within the nether regions of our minds.

What a great album!! The epitomy of melancholic black metal. These guys really know how to build atmosphere and tension. The gutar riffs are killing it along with the keys.!! TONY ZAGORAIOS

Mesarthim has a magical way of creating the most wonderfully emotive music. The Great Filter is deeply genuine, grand, and emotional. It cycles through intensity and solemnity, bringing me on a perilous yet worthwhile journey to a dark celestial haven lightyears away. Septembre
